Renamed for this year in celebration of Adam Taylor, aka Adam Fabulous, DJ and long-time supporter of the event, The Backup Fabulous Village Fete takes place on Thursday July 10^th at Daytona Sandown Park, Esher, Surrey. Affectionately known as ‘the industry’s best day out’, this is the industry’s hottest event ticket of the year!

The Backup Parish Council are delighted to announce The Backup Fabulous Village Fete for 2025!

Affectionately known as “the industry’s best day out,” this highly anticipated event will take place on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, from 9am to 7pm BST at Daytona Sandown Park in Esher, Surrey.

The day promises an exciting blend of adrenaline and entertainment, centred around the popular three-hour endurance race and the crowd-favourite ‘5-Star Cases Flight Case Relay’. For those seeking a different pace, the Fete transforms the traditional country pursuits into industry-relevant activities with fly catching (fly fishing) and pheasant shooting (laser clayz), while creative souls can discover the art of Feather Dancing.

Culinary enthusiasts will enjoy the chance to showcase their talents in the popular Backup Village Fete ‘Bake Off’ and ‘Veg Off’ competitions, while this year introduces a special DJ Off competition to honour Adam’s legacy in the music scene.

The afternoon transitions into the highlight event—the Fab Cab (Fabulous Cabaret), where the real magic happens. Picture yourself raising a glass to the sunshine as old-school Balearic tunes fill the air across the village fete grounds. The “Café Del Backup”-style atmosphere will feature an extraordinary lineup with DJ Asad and ‘Kit on Sax’ setting the tempo and temperature, before being joined on stage by the legendary Ruby Murray and the brilliant trio of The Idolls. Together, they’ll dive into a back catalogue of toe-tapping, beat-slapping, voice-crying Ibiza classics for one unforgettable singalong experience — and that’s just part of what promises to be a brilliant day out.

Throughout the grounds, attendees can savour gourmet delights from Dough Shack Pizza, Gosia’s Table, and Tripoli Express, complemented by refreshing beverages from Green Room Distillery, Signature Brew, and the Tea&b (d&b) Coffee van, with Vinnies Ice Creams providing sweet treats.

Beyond the entertainment, the Village Fete will feature an enticing raffle and silent auction, with proceeds supporting the industry’s technical professionals. Several partner organisations including Music Support, The Power of Events, and Music Industry Therapists will be present to share their valuable resources.

“With so much to experience throughout the day, from the exhilarating karting competition to the now famous 5-Star Cases Flight Case Relay, delicious food and vibrant post-race entertainment, we know it’s going to be a truly Fabulous day,” says Lee Dennison, UK Board Vice Chair at Backup. “The ever-popular Bake Off and Veg Off competitions will return, plus we’re adding a DJ Off where budding industry DJs can showcase their skills — something we’re sure Adam would thoroughly approve of. And of course, the Best Dressed Villager award remains a cherished tradition along side the ‘Best Fete Stall Design’ and ‘Best Fete Stall Game’ competitions. Attendees can also enjoy the Straw Stage’s live entertainment and workshops, browse our Food and Craft Fest stalls, and we still have some exciting new activities to announce.”

• 09:00 AM on Tuesday 1st April for Backup Partners
• 09:00 AM on Thursday 3rd April for General Sale

For 2025 we have 3x Hospitality Packages and the usual individual Day Pass ticket:

Kart Team Package (£1,601.00) – Each team may enter up to 6x drivers for the three-hour endurance race. Entry into our 5 Star Cases ‘Flight Case Relay’ and a Village Fete Stall.

The Manor House Package (£601.00) – The Manor house offers pre-built gazebos with seating in its own sectioned off area, with prime views over the event activities. Each VIP Gazebo purchase comes with 6x VIP tickets that gives you access to the Manor House members VIP bar.

Fete Stall Package (£361.00)– A Fete Stall is 4m x 4m space to install and run your own fete stall and company base. Each stall spot purchase comes with 6 x stall holder tickets.

Individual Day Pass Ticket (£66.00)– The Day Pass Ticket gives you access to roam and enjoy all the fun of our Village Fete! 

What’s included in your hospitality package and day pass ticket: 

• Lunch and soft drinks (the latter throughout the day) from our amazing Food partners including an ice cream from Vinnie’s Ice Cream van! 
• Access to all onsite activities and fete stall games, excluding karting (purchased separately see below).
• Option to enter the following Village Fete competitions; ‘Bake Off’ / ‘Veg Off’ / Peasant Shooting (laser clay shooting) / DJ Off
• Automatic entry into our ‘Best Dressed Villager’ competition for those who come dressed to impress on the day, in an outfit that exemplifies Village Fete or Village and countryside theme.
