Backup Tech is seeking a part-time Pastoral Care and Grants Support Officer to support the charity’s grant application, triage and beneficiary care process.
This important role requires sensitivity, as the successful candidate will be helping people across the technical entertainment industry access support at times of illness, injury, hardship, mental health challenge or personal difficulty.
Key responsibilities will also include responding to grant applicants, gathering relevant information, completing initial eligibility, identity, employment and financial checks, maintaining accurate case records, supporting timely grant processing and helping to signpost applicants to appropriate services.
The role will also support the Backup Helpline rota, grant follow-up, therapist referrals, grant portal administration, trustee reporting data and beneficiary testimonials where appropriate.
This position would suit someone with strong administration and communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information professionally. Experience in charity support, welfare, grants administration, casework, pastoral care, HR, wellbeing or a similar people-focused support role is beneficial.
Knowledge of the live events, touring, theatre, broadcast, production or technical entertainment sector is an advantage.
The post requires empathy, discretion, strong administration, sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive information correctly.
Once in role, the employee will have access to MHFA training if they have not already completed equivalent training.
This is a part-time role, offered at £34,000 full-time equivalent, pro rata. Based on two days per week, the gross annual salary will be £13,600.
