Epson and Rosco become latest Backup Tech Partners

The vital work that Backup does is only possible thanks to the unwavering support of the industry, through the fundraising of individuals to the partnerships with industry companies. The generosity of our supporters enables Backup to continue its vital work. As we head towards a busy summer of events, shows and festivals, Backup is excited to welcome on board Rosco and Epson, two giants of industry and long-term supporters of Backup’s work.
Rosco is a huge name, well known by everyone who works in the technical industries. For Steve Ramos, Business Unit Director in the UK for Rosco, giving back to the people that have kept Rosco a global name was a key factor in the company’s choice to partner with Backup.
“At Rosco we have a very global but local focus and, as a result, some of the things we support are global and others more local,” he says. “A conversation with Jess [Allan from Backup] at PLASA Leeds reminded me of the importance of Backup Tech, and a four-hour drive back to London meant I had a lot of time to think about how best to do that in a significant way over a longer period of time. Donating profits from the very products supported by the people being supported by Backup Tech felt like a really appropriate way to do this.”
Rosco has chosen its exclusive football-inspired Gobo Collection, designed to bring the spirit of the World Cup to lighting designs through a range of iconic football themed projections, as its chosen product. Engineered for precision projection across a variety of fixtures, the collection offers creative opportunities for productions and events while also giving back to the industry.
For Epson, the chance to focus on wellbeing was an important prospect. Clair Huckle, Sale Manager – High Brightness & Pro Home Cinema Projectors, was keen to support the workers who often put their own feelings on hold for the shows they facilitate.
“We’re proud to support Backup Tech and give back to the AV community that underpins our industry,” she explains. “As a business built around enabling impactful visual experiences, we recognise the dedication and pressures faced by the people behind the scenes. This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting their wellbeing, helping ensure those who deliver exceptional live events have access to the support they need, both professionally and personally.”
These two powerhouses of the entertainment industry join an exciting panel of Partners who are furthering and supporting Backup as they offer financial aid and enabling access to wellbeing support, training and essential services, to those who need it most, whenever they need it.
As Lee Dennison, Backup Chair, concludes, “The industry is heading towards a summer season of festivals and shows, some of its busiest months of the year for us all. This is when more pressure falls on the industry and when more help is needed, so Rosco and Epson’s support is very gratefully received.”
